A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
