Area Police
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they stated.
City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking representative said the attack made him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
